Overview
This is the home page for the USC Group for Computational & Stochastic Mechanics.
The group is under the direction of Professor Roger Ghanem at USC.
Our objective is to investigate the propagation of uncertainty
in physical and engineered systems, and its effect on the performance
of these systems. To that end we are investigating relationships
between the uncertainty at the microscale and that at the macroscale.
We also look at the system level and formulate decisions related
to risk reduction and hazard mitigation. The sensitivity of
these decisions to the uncertainty in different layers of the
systems is quantified and experiments designed to optimize the
allocation of resources aimed at further reduction of risk and hazard.
